Gandhi and Shastri Jayanti was celebrated at Sankalp Senior Secondary school to commemorate the 152nd birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi and the 117th birth anniversary of Sri Lal Bahadur Shastri. Members of the teaching and non-teaching staff joined with the students to mark this event as a memorable one.. Esteemed Chairman of the school, Mr ET Rao, Director Mr Sarthak and CEO Mrs Swarnalata joined the event as honourable guests.
The event started with lighting the lamp by the dignitaries followed by one of the favourite bhajan of Gandhiji “Vaishnava Jan tho…”. Principal Pradipta Kishore Panigrahy delivered the welcome address whereas Mrs K Sujata spoke about the significance of the day and Mr Umakanta Mahapatro spoke about the Gandhian Philosophy. Mr K Chiranjibi Achary spoke about the second prime minister of India Sri Lal Bahadur Shastri. Mrs Halima Bee presented the glimpses of Mahatma Gandhi’s life by a mesmerising short video. All the attendees sang the bhajan “Raghupati Raghava Raja Ram” which was widely popularised by Mahatma Gandhi. Chairman Mr E T Rao captivated the audience by his speech in which he emphasized how students can adopt Gandhian philosophy in their lives. Mrs S Nagrashruti conducted the program meticulously which was concluded by singing the National Anthem by all the attendees.
Clean India Drive by Sankalp Scouts & Guides
The Scouts troop and Guides company of Sankalp Senior Secondary school had a cleanliness drive on 6 October 2021 under the guidance of the Scout Master Mr Ghanshyam Sethi. About 15 students participated in the drive and cleaned the roads and streets in the nearby village Ralab. Students trekked a hill nearby to conduct the cleaning activities by collecting plastic and polythene littered over there. The villagers and the bystanders appreciated this initiative of the school Scout troop and Guide company.
